I love this ancient quote from Chinese Philosopher - Lao Tzu – whose name roughly translates as Old Master : "A Good Traveler Has No Fixed Plans and Is NOT Intent on Arriving."
People viewing my videos – or clients participating with me on a zoom call – often quickly notice my background and ask if I am in an RV…
Well today I thought I would put that rumor to rest…
Indeed, I am operating out of our small class B RV – I guess you could say … we are in a van… down by the ocean as opposed to the river.
But let me back up and explain.
Before retiring from NCUA and transitioning into consulting for Credit Union CEOs … my wife and I purchased a Class B RV with the intent of checking out the Great National Parks and attending concerts across the US when they fit the schedule…
We had what we believed was an infallible plan in place, that would allow me to consult and allow us to travel…
As a new RVer we learned it needed a name:
we named it Sateliite: a celestial body orbiting the earth – or in this case – the US…
We were ready for new challenges and adventures and had arranged for cellular data coverage on every possible network so we could stay connected to family, friends and of course clients…
Well as the boxer Mike Tyson once said –
Everyone has a plan…
Until they get punched in the face…
The pandemic hit and punched us all in the face
and that changed among other things -our summer plans, deferred our daughter’s wedding, and while we have all fortunately been healthy ...
well we needed a new plan…
We moved our plans – literally to Florida… the Florida State Parks are our home for the near future -- and we have visited many already…
So you will continue to find that my studio is my RV….
